Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 August 2026
Nagomi collects nothing. No analytics, no crash reporting, no account, and no server of ours anywhere. Nothing you do in Nagomi is transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for it to go.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers the Nagomi iPhone app and the website at nagomi.day. Both are provided by an independent developer based in Osaka, Japan, who is the data controller for the little this policy describes. Contact: [email protected] — that address reaches a person, not a ticket queue.
2. What the app collects
Nothing. Nagomi's App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected, and that is a description of how the app is built rather than a policy we promise to follow. We wrote no networking code, no analytics, and no crash reporting into it, so there is no code path by which your data could reach us — whether we wanted it to or not. It is also why we find out about bugs only when people tell us about them.
The one thing that does use the network
We would rather be exact than sound better than we are, so: a blanket "Nagomi never uses the network" would be false. Apple's StoreKit does. It is Apple's own code, running inside the app, and it contacts the App Store to fetch current prices and to ask whether your Apple Account owns Nagomi Pro.
We do not see or control what that exchange contains, it happens between you and Apple, and it carries nothing about your schedules, your app selections, or your log. It is the only network activity in the app, and it is what makes buying and restoring a purchase work at all.
3. What is stored on your device
Nagomi keeps the following in a private container on your iPhone, shared only between the app and its own scheduling extension:
- Your schedules — the periods you create, their times, and which days they run.
- Your app selections — stored as opaque tokens supplied by Apple's Screen Time framework. These are not app names, and they are not readable by us or by anyone else; iOS deliberately makes them meaningless outside your device.
- The reliability log — a record of when each scheduled block started and ended, whether the shield applied, and whether Screen Time access changed. This is what the app shows you on the Today and Log screens.
- Your settings — such as the Strict Mode waiting time.
All of it is removed when you delete the app. None of it is backed up to our systems, because we have no systems. We have deliberately not implemented iCloud sync.
4. Screen Time data
Nagomi uses Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings frameworks. Apple designed these so that an app can act on your Screen Time choices without being able to read them: the app receives opaque tokens, never app names, bundle identifiers, or usage statistics.
Nagomi never transmits Screen Time data off the device. This is both a commitment and a technical fact about how the app is built.
5. When you share the log yourself
Nagomi lets you export the reliability log — for example to send it to us when something has gone wrong. That is the one case where information leaves your device, and it happens only when you deliberately choose to share it, using iOS's own share sheet, to a destination you pick.
The exported log contains timestamps, the period names you chose, counts of how many apps and categories were blocked, and your iOS version. It does not contain the identity of any blocked app, because the app does not have that information. If you email a log to us, we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you, and then delete it.
6. Purchases
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, email address, or payment details. Nagomi asks the operating system a single question — whether this Apple Account currently owns Nagomi Pro — and acts on the yes or no. We use Apple's StoreKit directly, with no third-party purchase or subscription service. This is the network activity described in section 2.
7. This website
nagomi.day is a set of static pages hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no fonts, scripts, trackers, or images from other companies, and has no comment forms or sign-ups.
As with any website, our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and browser user-agent in order to deliver the page and to protect against abuse. That happens under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. We do not receive per-visitor reports and do not attempt to identify visitors.
8. Children
Nagomi is not directed at children and is not a parental-control product; it manages the device it is installed on, for the person using it. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect information.
9. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. The data on your device is yours already, and deleting the app removes it.
We do not sell or share personal information, and never have. There is no advertising identifier, no data broker, and no partner of any kind.
If you email us, we hold that correspondence until it is resolved, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. If you are in the UK and believe we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Changes to this policy
If Nagomi ever changed in a way that made this policy inaccurate, we would update this page and say so in the app before the change shipped — not afterwards. The date at the top reflects the current version.
